The local parish priest, Padre Alberto/Berting finds himself at a dilemma when his childhood sweetheart returns to their home town with her Filipino-American fiancé to get married. He reminisces about their childhood friendship and unexpected growing closeness. Unfortunately, they had to go their separate ways when she leaves town to become a financial analyst. After counseling a young couple who eloped and giving last rites while converting his best friends mother (on her request) to become Catholic, he realizes the responsibility and his commitment to his vocation and he makes his decision.
