Spring 1946: Germany is reeling from the Second World War. However, a few young people hold the future in their hands. Wendelin and Manfred are traveling on a rough road. Their mission is to recruit people of their generation in the small towns of Thuringia for the recently founded Free German Youth. But this is an uphill struggle that requires the use of all their strength and becomes a threat to their own existence.
