Child Subhash (Master Ashish Ghosh) is an intelligent guy who loves his motherland. He gets admitted to school, where he came second. All his teachers and his headmaster appreciate the little guy's intelligence and his bravery. Subhash grows up into a young boy (Amar Dutta) inspired by the beaching of Swami Vivekanda into a great patriotic leader. He lived the life of an ascetic and ventured into the Himalaya and gained knowledge about the caste discrimination in India. His soul get greatly injured by the poor state of his motherland. He condones the British teachings and finally he gets suspended from the college. He along with the freedom fighters forms an association creating slogans against the British. Finally he meets Ashutosh Mukhopadhay who arranged for his readmission into the college. Subhash passed the ICS exams but refused to get a job.
