The plot narrates the trips of the Gran Circo Teatro Americano through the northeastern hinterland. In the city of Aracati, a play about the crisis in hell is put together. The plot, inspired by string literature, shows the arrival of the bandit Lamparina in hell, and Lucifer's participation in international capitalism.
