These images and sounds are from Berlin, Tokyo and Hong Kong. They blend together with light- and shadow-studies on the walls of an appartment in Berlin. They are mixed, muddled, confused and blinded by the tunes of westernized Chinese music. The camera's gaze does not become obsessive and it takes nothing directly in the eye. It sweeps far, follows the movement of the S-Bahn, a dog, a phone booth and slips further into different territories. These images of the outside world, a night at the Silesian Gate, a day in Tokyo and Hong Kong, are here with an unpretentious matter of course, and through their assembly the pictures begin to speak. The world is together here but, by the independent passages of time, still separated into east and west, day and night. The feelings of wanderlust, homesickness and longing are evoked from a place somewhere and nowhere at the same time.
