According to the order of the magistrate of the free city of Tallinn, one of the most famous knights of the Livonian Order, Baron Yukskyul, was executed for killing his former serf. The serf, who lived in Tallinn for one year and one day, became a free man, but the baron did not want to reckon with the law. The baron was executed for the sake of justice and for the glory of the rights of the free city of Tallinn. Matis, who was tortured by Baron Yukskyul, is not a noble citizen, but a simple gunsmith, so for the members of the Tallinn magistrate, it is not so much about a person as about the principle. And not only about the principle of individual freedom, but also about things much more important and prosaic: the baron attacks merchant ships, undermines the welfare of Tallinn merchants and the members of the magistrate themselves
