Refusing to accept the untimely death of his beloved wife during childbirth, the poor barrel-piano street musician, Kosmas, decides to give his newborn daughter up for adoption to an affluent couple. As the years pass by, the young woman, Nina, falls in love with an impoverished violinist, unbeknownst to her that her repentant father silently watches her grow up. When Nina's foster parents strongly oppose to this relationship, once more, things will take a turn for the worse. Can the humble street pianoforte save Nina's life?
