This long-running sitcom, arguably Flanders' most popular contemporary comedy, is named "FC the Champions" after the "pub soccer team" of a bunch of acquaintances in a small Belgian town, which are actually quite bad at their sport, soccer, but can't do without each-other, despite the many rivalries, pranks, envy etcetera. Far more action takes place in the pub -also club seat- of the Crucke family and their respective homes then on the field, which is inconveniently close to the nasty garage-manager and owner. Most other major characters are players and their wives, and the sponsor and club president, who owns a sausage factory.
