爱沙尼亚无声电影讲述1918-1920年爱沙尼亚人反抗苏联军队的独立战争。是爱沙尼亚影史上的一部经典。 Noored Kotkad is an Estonian war and adventure silent film about Estonian War of Independence, fought in 1918-1920. Year is 1918. Many volunteers are joined with Estonian Army to defend their homeland and fight against Sovet Army. In others, there are smith, student and farm worker in Army. They have to go to different missions and fight in many though battles. Film was filmed in 1927 in Tartu, Tartu County, Mustvee and in Varska. Film was digitally edited in 2008 by Taska Productions and Digital Film Finland. Theodor Luts (1896-1980) an Estonian film director and cinematographer, brother of an Estonian classic writer Oskar Luts, was the first major figure of Estonian cinematography. His Noored kotkad (Young Eagles) (1927) is generally regarded as the cornerstone of Estonian cinema. Paikese lapsed (Children of the Sun) (1932) directed by Luts was the first Estonian full length sound film. After the Great Depression hit Estonia in 1930's Theodor Luts produced mostly documentaries for a state subsidized film studio Eesti Kultuurifilm and also had a successful career in Finland. 24 films by Theodor Luts made in Estonia have survived and are hold at the Estonian Film Archives. Feature films directed by Luts in Finland include Salainen ase(1943) and Varjoja Kannaksella (1943). After the World War II and Soviet Occupation of Estonia Luts emigrated to Brazil where he directed Caraca, Porta do Céu in 1950.
