Reiko, a lonely young woman, fell in love with a middle aged man named Mr. Katsuragi. His wife, Akiko, was having an affair with a young man. Reiko liked Akiko and felt guilty about her adulterous relationship. Emotions ran high, and eventually the affair came to light and Akiko commited suicide.
