In 1988, Armin Glaser, lieutenant of the Stasi, lived in Karl-Marx-Stadt with his wife and their daughter Kati, suffering from multiple sclerosis. The family is putting all their hopes in a promising new treatment offered by the district hospital. But very quickly, Armin saw inconsistencies and gray areas in the protocol, which made him more and more suspicious. His position in the Stasi allows him to investigate.
