David Walliams explores the magic behind the storytelling of Roald Dahl, one of the world's most successful children's authors. To try to understand the great writer's special touch, David immerses himself in Dahl's stories and characters. In Cardiff, Dahl's birthplace, David finds out about the Norwegian folktales that Dahl was read as a child and visits his old sweetshop and school. He also goes to Dahl's legendary writing hut and discovers early drafts of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. With contributions from Dahl's family as well as long-time illustrator Quentin Blake, Joanna Lumley, Michael Rosen, Tim Minchin and biographer Donald Sturrock.
