Lilia, a girl from rural region, travels to the main town to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. Her first attempt at getting accepted into acting school fails but she is undeterred. Determined to audition again next year, she stays in a town working as a waitress in a top restaurant and living in a hostel with fellow aspiring actress, Marina. Lilia's life soon takes a dramatic twist when she meets Arseniy, a trainee lawyer at a college dance with whom she falls in love. Unfortunately, his rich and prominent parents strongly against their relationship and are determined to put a stop to it at all costs. They get their chance later that evening when the owner of the restaurant where Lilia works, is murdered. Lilia is suddenly the prime suspect and with evidence mounting, even Arseniy begins to doubt her innocence.
