In her book "Old age", Simone de Beauvoir claims old age is wrapped in a conspiracy of silence. This film tries to break the silence, and Simone de Beauvoir's comments are its leading strand. We visit residents in Ivry or Nanterre, coalmining or textile workers in the North of France, Parisian intellectuals and artists... But the most present of all are old people. They tell us about their life, their solitude, their problems, but also about their sexual life and their love.
