Gordon Hume Smith，Captain Gordon Hume Smith, of Toronto, Canada, fought in the Battle of the Somme in World War I. During that battle, the back of one of his hands was torn off by a German shell. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre. His only known film appearance was in The Wonderful Thing (1921) with Norma Talmadge.
